Lottie Louise Cossette (née Moore)
Lottie Louise Cossette (née Moore) of Moose Jaw, SK passed away on Thursday, March 5th, 2015 with her family by her side. Lottie had just turned 85 years old on March 1st. She was born in 1930 to John and Myrtle Moore in Kelso, Washington. Her family moved back to Canada when Lottie was three weeks old. She grew up on the farm near Courval, SK. Lottie married Patrick Cossette in October 1948. During their 66 years of marriage, Lottie worked and lived in Burdett, AB, lived and ran a store in Coderre, SK, farmed in the Coderre area and lived in Moose Jaw. Lottie resided at Providence Place in Moose Jaw for the last 20 years. Lottie was very competent and hardworking no matter what the task. During her life she worked tirelessly as a homemaker, gardener, cook, farmer, store manager and fundraiser. She worked especially hard looking after her family and friends, including her “second” family at Providence Place. Despite living with MS for years, which limited her mobility for 30 years, Lottie carried on working and never complained. Lottie is survived by her husband, Patrick; children: Adrian (Yvette) Cossette, Eugene (Bev) Cossette, Barbara (Dallas) Glascock, Kathleen (Brian) Stroh, Annette (Victor) Jensen, Christine (Leslie) Cossette and their families. Lottie has 17 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Lottie has gone to heaven to dance and garden with her mother, Myrtle; father, John; and sister, Retta; all who passed before her. Lottie will always be remembered for her honesty, strength, hard work, compassion and the “tough love” she gave to everyone she cared about. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 10th, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 1064 3rd Ave NW, Moose Jaw, SK. Father Rick Krofchek will be the presiding celebrant and interment will take place at Coderre Cemetery at a later date. A Prayer Service will be held on Monday, March 9th, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Lottie’s name may be made to the Providence Place Residents Fund, 100 – 2nd Ave NE, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 1B8.
