Mabel Vera Colenutt
Mabel Vera Colenutt, aged 93 years of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan passed away on Wednesday, October 24th, 2007. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 2nd, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Pastor Bill Thompson will officiate and interment will take place at Caron Cemetery. A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, November 1st, 2007 from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Mabel was born and raised in the Edgehill district. She then moved to the Caron district to work as a housekeeper and where she met Roy. For 30 years they resided in Caron before moving to Strasbourg. They then moved to Earl Grey where they carried on a business until retiring to Moose Jaw in 1976. Mabel suffered from macular degeneration in her later years but continued to be very active in bowling and cribbage tournaments, and proud of the fact that she had won a number of them. Mabel was predeceased by husband Roy; son Gerald; sisters Ruth, Easel, Lavina; and brother John. Mabel is survived by her son Jack (Joyce) of Regina, Sk.; daughter-in-law Sheila of Red Deer, Ab.; grandchildren Kevin (Sue) of Ottawa, Ont., Lauren (Dave) Petrovitch of Regina, Sk., Christine (Owen) of Regina, Sk., Christopher (Shelley) of Whitecourt, Ab., Geraldine (Noel) of Red Deer, Ab., Geoffrey (Niki) of Lacombe, Ab.; 11 great grandchildren; sisters Agnes (Ben) Rogers of Fort Qu’Appelle, Sk. and Coral “Maltie” (Haldon) Hodgins of Moose Jaw, Sk.; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
