Courtney Laurel Cochrane
Our hearts are filled with sorrow as we announce the passing of Courtney Laurel Cochrane on Tuesday, October 16th, 2018 while awaiting a lung transplant in Edmonton, AB. She was predeceased by her grandparents, Robert (Bob) and Winnifred (Judy) Dixon; uncle, David Cochrane; and great-uncle, Brent Eberle. Courtney will be loved and proudly remembered by her mom and dad, Lesley and Wayne; brother Devon; grandparents, Les and Judy Cochrane; uncle, Christopher Dixon (Jammie Rollheiser); cousins: Charlize, Brianna, Taylor, Tatum and Keenan; uncle, Gordon Cochrane; cousins that were like brothers and sisters to Courtney: Kyle and Catherine Eberle and children Brenton and Sydney, Bryce Eberle (Crystal Brown) and children Hunter, Riley and Brody; as well as her great-aunts and uncles, cousins, and special friends from all across Saskatchewan and Alberta. Courtney was born in October 1997 and raised on the farm west of Moose Jaw, SK and this is where her love of horse and cattle was established. She attended Caronport Elementary school and then Central Collegiate in Moose Jaw for High school. Following high school, Courtney completed her first year of Business courses through Saskatchewan Polytechnic. Growing up, Courtney was very active in 4-H Light Horse clubs, as well as 4-H Beef project clubs. In her spare time she also figure skated, played hockey, and showed horses and cattle. As Courtney’s interest and knowledge developed in the livestock business, she started her own purebred herd of Hereford cattle. Her cattle and horses were all part of her business plan, however each one was named and held a special spot in her heart. Courtney’s other love was her canine companion, her border collie Nikki. Courtney was an amazing person. She always had a smile on her face, a twinkle in her big blue eyes, and a very positive never give up attitude. She was an inspiration to all who knew her. Courtney loved her family and friends more than anything. She will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 26th, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 1064 3rd Ave NW, Moose Jaw, SK with Father Jeffrey Burwell S.J. as presiding celebrant. Flowers are gratefully declined. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Courtney’s name may be made to the Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada, 3602 Millar Ave, Saskatoon, SK S7P 0B1. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Todd Sjoberg, Funeral Director 306-693-4550
