Margaret Cornelia Christmann

Margaret Cornelia Christmann (nee: Menning). It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret on Friday, January 12th, 2007 at the Central Butte Regency Hospital following a short illness. Margaret was born on January 10 th, 1925 in Cutknife, SK and was raised in the Arborfield area. After taking her High School at Zennon Park, she went to Regina to Normal School and obtained her teaching course. In 1943, she started teaching at Jefferson School in the Secretan area. Here she met Bernhart and on May 27 th, 1944, they were married and raised their family on the Sunrise Ranch. Margaret and BJ moved to Moose Jaw in 2004 where they retired in the High Park Towers . She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years Bernhart; her parents Bert Menning (1943) and Nell Ostlund (2003); step-father Carl Ostlund; brothers Jim and Fred; and daughter-in-law Darlene. Margaret will be lovingly missed by her daughter Betty (Jim) Johnson of Coquitlam, BC; sons Allan (Angie) of Moose Jaw, SK, Lyle(Kathy) and Carl (Christina) all of Central Butte, SK; twelve grandchildren Heather (Curtis), Lynelle, Susan (Justin), Tara (Brad), Kim, Richard (Alyssa), Nathan (Jen), Angela (Alain), Ryan (Amber), Alison, Casey and Riley; eight great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and all of her extended family who shared in her life. The Memorial Service will take place on Monday, January 22 nd , 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Pastor Doug Shepherd will officiate. In lieu of flowers, friends so wishing may make donations in Margaret’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, 61B Ross St. E., Moose Jaw, SK S6H 2M2 .
