Victorine (Vickie) Chartrand

Victorine (Vickie) Chartrand was born on April 11th, 1928 and went to her heavenly reward on Thursday, July 16th, 2015.  The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 25th, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church in Bengough, SK.  She was predeceased by her parents, St. Pierre (Peter) and Marie; her brothers: Tomas, Jacob, Edward, Peter, William, Emile and Dolphius; and her sisters: Christine, Mary, and Elena.  Vickie leaves to mourn: her sister, Laura Johnson; children: Colleen (Doug) Gillespie, David (Helen) Chartrand, Ken (Carol) Morrison, Mona (Jim) Fox, Tammy Morrison and Ryan (Isabel) Morrison; grandchildren: Kim, Duane, Dawne, Natalie, Genevieve, Natalie, Peter, Tanya, Denise, Dennis, Ken Jr., William, Shaun, Abbie, Caitlin, Kevin, Sharla and Faith; step-granddaughter, Kyla; as well as numerous great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces.  Vickie lived a long life, growing up in the Big Muddy Valley near Willow Bunch, eventually marrying Lyle Morrison in 1957 and raising six children together.  In 1981, she moved to Moose Jaw where she retired and lived until she entered Extendicare in 2001 due to the debilitating effects of Alzheimer’s.  She remained at the home until her passing.  The family would like to thank the staff at Extendicare who were on Mom’s team and did an amazing job with love and kindness.  We deeply appreciate all your thoughtfulness during this difficult time.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Vickie’s name may be made to The Alzheimer Assoc. of Saskatchewan Inc, 301- 2550 – 12th Ave, Regina, SK S4P 3X1.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Todd Sjoberg, Funeral Director 306-693-4550
