Kevin Champ
It is with broken hearts we announce the sudden passing of Kevin Champ. Kevin was born to Carol Champ on August 26th, 1983, and passed away on Thursday, February 8th, 2024, at the young age of 40 years.
Kevin spent most of his life in Moose Jaw, SK. He moved around the province a few times but always came back home. Kevin was involved in many sports and was good at them, he would play them with anyone if there was an opportunity. As we look through pictures, Kevin always had a different hat on as he was proud of his hats, and he had many. He took great joy in the welding he could do, and loved to show off his work, making some things for his family that we will forever cherish.
Kevin was a good man. He was the life of the party and always tried to make people smile. He had a big heart and loved with it wholly. Kevin’s greatest love was Jacob, and he would have loved to watch Kaizen grow up. Jacob was his world and if they were together, there was some wrestling, laughing and running around going on. Kevin could light up any room he was in and always had something sarcastic and funny to say.
Kevin struggled with addictions and depression for a big part of his life. He fought a good fight and met many people along his path. We know he is at peace and no longer suffering with his addictions.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, Fred and Violet Thirsk; mother, Carol Champ; brother; Trevor; aunt, Shirley; and cousins, Dean and Ryan. Kevin is survived by his sons, Jacob and Kaizen, and their mothers, Alicia (Paisley) and Mariah; siblings: Rick (Sarah) Thirsk, Austin, Hailey, Bryce and Finn, April Farnham, Ryley and Chandler, Darcy Farnham, John (Genelle) Champ, Brayden (Courtney), Brodie, and Brooklyn; great-nieces: Violet, Ivy and Lily; uncles, Dale and Richard Thirsk; Shelley and Larry Andrews; as well as many cousins and friends.
The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 23rd, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Interment will take place in Rosedale Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Kevin’s name may be made to the John Howard Society, 15 Hochelaga St W, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 2E9. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Gary McDowell, Funeral Director 306-693-4550
