John Victor Buxton
John Victor Buxton, passed away peacefully with his wife at his bedside at the Moose Jaw Union Hospital on Monday, October 1st, 2007. John was born at Wilkie, Sask., on July 7th, 1927. He began his C.P.Rail career in Moose Jaw. He was a locomotive engineer for many years and was promoted to Road Foreman in 1978 and held that position until he retired in February 1990. John was a member of the Moose Jaw Shrine Club and enjoyed many years as a member of the Shrine Military Band & Gourmet Club. He was a life member of the Elks Club and for many years was President of the C.R.Rail Pensioners Club. John was active in outdoor activities, jogging, walking and biking. He enjoyed many trips traveling in Canada & the U.S.A. with his wife. He was also a computer enthusiast and spent many hours on the Internet. John was predeceased by his parents; brother, Aubrey in 1988; son, John Thomas (Jack) in 1989. John is survived by his wife of 54 years, Doreen; daughter, Lori (Ron) Keesh of Portland, Oregon; granddaughter Vanessa of Vancouver, B.C. and grandson, Matthew of Calgary, Alberta; sister, Lorna Hushagen of Rimbey, Alberta; brother-in-law, Don (Pat) Carter of Richmond, B.C.; sister-in-law, Dorothy MacGibbon of Barrie, Ontario; special niece, Allison (Rob) Delaney of Brussels, Belgium & his special companion “Tasia”. In keeping with John’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate a donation to the Shriners Hospital for Sick Children, c/o Moose Jaw Shrine Club, 1767 Main St. North. Moose Jaw, Sask. S6J 1Z6.
