Therese “Terry” Brown
Therese “Terry” Brown (nee Desrosiers) aged 86 years of Regina, SK, passed away on Thursday, February 28th, 2013. She was born to Vincent Ferrier Desrosiers and Marie Henrie in Ste Anne, MB on May 7th, 1926, the fifth child of a family of ten. She took her schooling at the Convent run by the Grey Nuns in Ste Anne. After a summer course in Winnipeg, Therese got a permit to teach at the small country school of St. Raymond, MB. The following year was at Camperville, MB. After two years she realized that teaching was not for her. She accepted an offer of a job from her Aunt Sr. Rosa to work at the hospital in Gravelbourg, SK as a Practical Nurse. It was there she was introduced to John Brown while he was visiting a friend hospitalized at the time. They were married in the Basilica in St. Bonaface, MB in 1950. Jack and Terry, as they became known in the neighborhood, settled on the Mathew Brown farm where they farmed for forty years. In 1990 they moved to Moose Jaw, SK. There Terry joined the Catholic Women’s League and helped where she was needed in the organization. With husband Jack, she also joined the Irish Club and the Amateur Radio Club of Moose Jaw until Jack passed away in 2000. She was predeceased by her parents; brothers: Emile, Joseph, Achilles, Jean and Edouard; in-laws, Mathew and Annie Brown and husband, John. Therese leaves to mourn her passing, her children: Alice Morin (Vince Yaskowich), Constance (Wayne) Rosengren and Rosanne (Brad) Strauch; son-in-law, Gary Morin; grandchildren: Dean and Lee Morin, Dylan Strauch and Jennifer (Trevor) Moss; great-grandchildren, Riley and Julie Moss; sisters: Louise Thomas, Alma Perreault and Denise Daeninck; brother, Louis Desrosiers; sisters-in-law, Nora Mitchell and Yvonne Desrosiers; brother-in-law, Joseph Perrault and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 5th, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in Church of Our Lady, 566 Vaughan St., Moose Jaw, SK. Father Carlos Jimenez will be the presiding celebrant and interment will take place in Gravelbourg, SK at a later date. Flowers are gratefully declined.
