James John Brooker
James John Brooker aged 61 years of Moose Jaw, SK, passed away peacefully at Pioneer Lodge at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 2nd, 2023. James was born in Moose Jaw, SK. He was predeceased by his wife of 25 years, Tina Brooker; and parents, Ruth and John. James is survived by his daughter, Tamara (Josh) Korchinski; grandchildren, Isabella and Wyatt Korchinski; son, Travis (Aleesha) Brooker; grandchildren, Ayden and Nola Brooker; brothers, Edward (Cheryl) Brooker and Bert Brooker; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
James graduated from Peacock Collegiate and went on to Saskatchewan Polytechnic. He played in many bands growing up and travelled to many places. In June of 1995, James married his wife, Tina Brooker and together they had two children. He enjoyed travelling for his children’s wrestling tournaments and watching his grandchildren grow up. His passion was playing the drums and he would always try to get his grandchildren to play them every time they went to his house. James has had many friends over the years that would come by his house and have “Jam” sessions for hours on end.
A Come and Go Celebration of James’ Life will be held on Saturday, September 9th, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Temple Towers Basement, 750 1st Ave NE, Moose Jaw, SK. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Andrew Pratt, Funeral Director 306-693-4550
Sad to hear of Jim’s passing. I went to elementary school with Jim. We had lost touch over the years, but reconnected briefly a couple years ago. Jim was so proud of his children and grandchildren. He spoke with such enthusiasm and excitement when he talked about them.
I was thrilled to hear that he was still playing drums.
Gone too soon. Rest in peace.
