Howard James Broadis
Howard James Broadis of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan passed away peacefully with his family by his side, on Monday, October 26th, 2009 at the age of 77 years. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 31st, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home with Rev. Dwight Baron officiating. Howard was predeceased by his parents William and Bertha Broadis, two brothers and sisters-in-law Alvin (Irene) Broadis and Walter (Elaine) Broadis, both of Moose Jaw, his brother-in-law Ed Cassidy of Marysville, Washington, as well as several extended family members. He is survived by his loving wife Dorothy; his children Doug (Sharon) Broadis of Nanaimo, B.C., Donna Maier, and Greg (Cindy) Broadis of Moose Jaw; his grandsons Tim, Chad (Amanda), Dustin, Brayden Broadis; granddaughters Tara (Jordan) and Ashley (Brendan) Maier; three great grandchildren Brooklyn and Brock Schell and Shilo Broadis; his sister Margaret Cassidy of Washington; as well as several sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Howard was born on June 5th, 1932 in Chaplin, Saskatchewan to William and Bertha (Vick) Broadis. He attended Pine Lake School. On June 18th, 1955 Howard married Dorothy Pearcey. Howard worked at a variety of jobs, retiring in 1993 at the age of 61 years. Howard enjoyed fishing, camping, ski-dooing, gardening, flowers, playing cards and woodworking. But the most important thing in his life was his family. Flowers are gratefully declined. For those so wishing, donations in Howard’s name may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
