Bowyer “Bud” Bradford
Bowyer “Bud” Bradford, aged 91 years of Moose Jaw, SK., passed away on Wednesday, November 7th, 2012. Bud was born on the family farm near Lawson, SK. on March 17th, 1921 to Bowyer and May Bradford. He received his education at Brampton School. As a young adult, he was active and interested in civic affairs. He served as trustee on the Brampton School Board, was a founding member of the Palliser Park Board in Riverhurst, Chairman of Lawson Wheat Pool Committee, Wheat Pool delegate for District 5, Councillor and Reeve of the R.M. of Enfield, member of the Central Butte Co-op Board, board member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Central Butte, Chairman of Central Butte Home and School Association, and Chairman of the Central Butte History Book Society. Bud and Irene were married July 24th, 1948 and they raised a family of four daughters and one son on the Bradford family farm. In retirement, Bud, with his wife Irene, enjoyed their travels in Canada and to the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Tasmania, Europe, Israel and the special highlight of being on Mission in Papua New Guinea. In 1990, the Bradfords moved to Moose Jaw where Bud was on the Board of Moose Jaw and District Seniors, a volunteer driver for Thunder Creek Home Care, as well as an active member of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church. His hobbies were boating, water skiing and gardening, especially roses. He was predeceased by his parents, Bowyer and May; and siblings: Arthur in infancy, Fred, Dave, Frank, Nellie and Lloyd. Bud leaves to mourn his loss, his wife, Irene; children: Beverly (Larry), Colleen (Lyle), Dean (Keri), Yvonne (Russell) and Lynette (Greg); grandchildren: Evette (Bryce), Natasha (Wayne), Andrea (Aaron), John (Robyn), Eric (Marian), Dan (Lisa), Lauren, Allison (Trevor), Megan (Nick) and Mac; great-grandchildren: Jacob, Quinn and Autumn; sister, Thelma Dunn; and numerous nieces and nephews. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, November 12th, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 1064 3rd Ave. N.W., Moose Jaw, SK. Father Rick Krofchek will be the presiding celebrant and interment will take place at Rosedale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bud’s name may be made to the Providence Place Foundation Inc., 100 – 2nd Ave. N.E., Moose Jaw, SK. S6H 1B8.
