Roland Michael Blanchard

Roland Michael Blanchard passed away on Saturday, December 9th, 2017 at the age of 91 years.  Roland was born in Coderre, SK on October 20th, 1926.  He married Florence Tremblay on July 12th, 1951 and they resided in Moose Jaw, then moved to Spy Hill, SK in 1967.  He worked as a minor in the IMC Potash Mine for 26 years.  Roland returned to Moose Jaw in 2014 to reside at Chateau St. Michaels.  He was predeceased by his wife, Florence; and son-in-law, Lionel Erlendson.  Roland will be missed by his daughter, Elaine Erlendson; daughter, Vivian (Mike) Carambetsos; son, Michael (Anita) Blanchard; and son, Brian (Georgina) Blanchard; 8 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; and special friend, Carmen Doray.  A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday December 13th, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chateau St. Michael’s Activity Room, 525 7th Ave SE, Moose Jaw, SK.  As an expression of sympathy, donations in Roland’s name may be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, Unit 26 – 1738 Quebec Ave, Saskatoon, SK S7K 1V9 or Chateau St. Michaels, 525 7th Ave SE, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 8B6.  The family would like to thank Dr. Rinnisland and the caregivers from the Five Hills Health Center and Chateau St. Michaels.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Calvin Gammel, Funeral Director 306-693-4550
