Genevieve Verdell Blager
Genevieve Verdell Blager went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 5th, 2011 at the age of 96. Genevieve was born to Orville and Hazel Tysdal in the Baildon district July 18th, 1915 and spent her childhood near Briercrest. She taught at Old Guard and Lake School prior to her marriage to Alton Blager in 1938. They moved to Moose Jaw in 1946 and had four children. Gen worked for National Light and Power and Sask Power as a secretary until she retired in 1980. She was very active in the music ministry of the Alliance Church playing piano and organ and singing duets with Al on the radio broadcasts. She was predeceased by her husband Al; her parents; sister Ruth Jacques; brothers Elmer and Orville Tysdal; daughter-in-law Janet Blager; and great-granddaughter Kylee Manske. She is survived by her children: Ann (Jess) Jespersen of Levis, Que, Robert Glen (Sharon) Blager of Moose Jaw, Ruth (Ric) Glombowski of Whitewater, Wis., and Patricia (Arnold) Manske of Coronach; brothers Martin and Daryl Tysdal; 11 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. Friends are invited to come for a celebration of Gen’s life on Saturday, November 12th, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home.
