Paul Jacob Berger
Paul Jacob Berger, aged 93 years of Central Butte, SK, passed away on Tuesday, March 5th, 2013. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, March 11th, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Central Butte, SK. Father Rick Krofchek will be the presiding celebrant and interment will take place in Central Butte Cemetery. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Katherine Berger; brothers, Frank Berger and Joseph Berger; sisters: Barbara Baldwin (Edgar), Margaret Brehm (Frank), Katherine Coutts (Robert), Helen Morrisey (Melvin) and Eva Cantrell (Emmitt); sister-in-law, Margarite Berger; and brothers-in-law, Russell Campbell and John Nickel. Paul is survived by his wife of 61 years, Lucille; son, Terry (Margaret); grandchildren: Regan (Linda) and their son Woodrow Paul, Kevin (Crystal) and Jennifer (Clinton); brothers, George Berger and Albert (Sheila) Berger; and sisters, Mary Campbell and Anna Nickel; as well a numerous nieces and nephews. Paul was a longtime member of the Royal Canadian Legion and served in WWII for 6 years. He enjoyed sports and refereed hockey and umpired ball for many years. Paul sat on numerous boards, being honoured recently for 50 years in the Canadian Hereford Association. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Paul’s name may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #213, General Delivery, Central Butte, SK S0H 0T0.
