Jacob Phillip Berger

Jacob Phillip Berger, aged 90 years of Central Butte, SK, passed away on Wednesday, June 12th, 2013.  The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 18th, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Central Butte, SK.  Father Barry Anwender will be the presiding celebrant and interment will take place at Central Butte Cemetery.  A Time of Visitation for Family and Friends will be held before the Mass on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m.  He was predeceased by his parents, George and Margaret; brothers, Joe, Tony, John and Ben; and sisters, Anne and Beth.  Jake is survived by his brother, Ed and many nieces and nephews.  Jake was born July 19th, 1922 in Central Butte, SK and was raised on the family farm.  He was educated at Hayfield School.  Jake went to farm with his brothers and worked a short time on the railway.  He took a lot of pride in what he owned, from his farmyard and equipment to his home in Central Butte.  Jake retired in 1978 and moved to Central Butte, to his home where he lived until he moved to Iver Main in 2006.  As an expression of sympathy, donations in Jake’s name may be made to St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Central Butte, SK S0H 0T0.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Gary McDowell, Funeral Director. 306-693-4550.
