Irene Isabelle Berg
Irene Isabelle Berg (nee Busse) was born on April 15th, 1922 at Hollonquist, Saskatchewan to Olga and Ted Busse, the eldest of 16 children. She married George Berg in 1943, and together they made their home in Swift Current and farmed at Neidpath, Braddock and Dendron until 1963, when they moved to a farm near Keeler. They continued to farm until 1986 when George and Irene retired to Moose Jaw. Irene was a wonderful gardener who was committed to taking care of her plants and her gardens, ever willing to share the joy and beauty of mother nature. She was extremely proud of her majestic flower beds and huge vegetable gardens for which she humbly received countless awards and compliments. She also enjoyed sewing and helped to support her family as a seamstress. Irene was a member of the Hillcrest Apostolic Church, and as a Christian she took responsibility for living and sharing her faith. She had an unbound ability to love all those around her and make them feel that they were important in her life. She especially loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Irene passed away on January 28th, 2010. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Shawn Berg in July, 2009. Irene will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband George; her two children, son Monte Berg (Kathy), children Jasmine (Curtis), Nolan and Eric Berg; daughter Marilyn Robertson (Lloyd Collier), children Kristen Granholm (JD), Jennifer Robinson (Mike), Karl Robinson (Melanie), Tennille Oliveira (Jason); and nine great grandchildren, Chase, Madison, Noah, Maximus, Matthew, Harley, Hayden, Tynan, Taylynn. A Memorial Service and internment will take place at a later date.
