LILLIAN ANNA (LESSMEISTER) BEMIS
Lillian passed away peacefully on Monday, April 27th, 2015 at Extendicare with family by her side. She was born on April 2nd, 1928 in Macklin, SK. She was predeceased by her husband, John in 2001; grandson, Paul Zumstein in 1993; son-in-law, Russell Hannan in March 2015; parents, Joseph and Mary Lessmeister; sisters: Clare Lessmeister, Margaret (John) Campbell and Rose (Joe) Reiniger; brothers: Arthur Lessmeister, Vincent (Yvonne) Lessmeister and Wilfred Lessmeister; and brothers and sister-in-law: Gordon and Mary Bemis, and Norman Bemis. Lillian is survived by her children: Norm (Ellen) Bemis and family, Audrey (Ralph) Lyding and family, Harold Bemis, Shirley Hannan and family, and Debbie (Jerry) Zumstein and family; sisters, Esther (George) Zimmer and Mary Lessmeister; sister-in-law, Maggie Lessmeister; close friend and relative, Eunice McLaren; as well as many nieces and nephews. Lillian really enjoyed spending time with her 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, and now 2 more on the way. We will miss her impish smile! In the past years, Lillian was involved with the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Cancer Society, Pregnancy Crisis Line, and was an active member of St. Joseph’s CWL. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, May 1st, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 1064 3rd Ave NW, Moose Jaw, SK. Father Rick Krofchek will be the presiding celebrant and interment will take place at Rosedale Cemetery. A Prayer Service will be held on Thursday, April 30th, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Lillian’s name may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Sask, 279 3rd Ave N, Saskatoon, SK S7K 2H8.
