Gordon Beggs
Gordon Beggs of Iver Main Place, Central Butte, Sk, and long time resident of Riverhurst, Sk, passed away at Moose Jaw Union Hospital, Tuesday, April 3 rd, 2007 at the age of 89 years. He was born on the family farm near Gilroy, Sk., on August 25 th, 1917, to Alexander and Jane (Blythe) Beggs. Gordon married May Crowley of Lawson on January 12 th, 1943. They farmed and raised cattle in the Gilroy district for many years before moving to Riverhurst. Gordon was a Charter member of the Lions Club and was very active in the community. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife, May, in 2005, sister Gladys and husband Mason, brother Clarence and wife Frances, in-laws Annis and Manley Birch, and Robert Peace. Gordon leaves to mourn his daughter, Joanne (Barry) Berg, grandson Trevor (Jackie) Berg, grandchildren: Janelle, Makayla, and Blake; sisters: Ella Peace, Irene (Gene) Lumley; brothers: Lloyd (Jean) and Ralph; brother and sister-in-law Dave and Arlene Crowley, numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and special friend, Vicky Mulholland. Special thanks to the staff at Iver Main Place for the great care he has received in the past two years. There will be no funeral service at Dad’s request.
