Ray Beauchesne
RAY passed away Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at the age of 69 after a brief, but courageous battle with respiratory illness. Ray was born in Bonnyville, AB and spent his childhood years in Assiniboia, SK. After a term in the Air Force as a firefighter, Ray went on to pursue several successful businesses. These included a Trucking Company, Beauchesne Construction and Hotel owner of The Big Muddy Inn in Bengough, SK. In the late 1980’s Ray built and ran R B’s Movie Mart on South Hill in Moose Jaw until his retirement.
In 1969 Ray married Christine, the love of his life. He welcomed her and her 4 children into his heart and with the special arrival of Clayton; they raised a family of 5. Ray was a devoted family man who took great pride in all of his children’s achievements. He loved the outdoors, going hunting and fishing with the family and tending to his yard and garden. Ray was a gifted craftsman and in his retirement he spent many hours in his workshop creating Intarsia heirlooms for family and friends.
Predeceased by his parents, Armand and Bella Beauchesne and 2 brothers Maurice and Ed. Ray will be greatly missed by his wife of 40 years, Christine, sons Clayton (Leah) Beauchesne, Humphrey (Alice) Hill, Oliver (Cathy) Hill, daughters Sarah Hallett, Maureen (Terry) Nestor, grandchildren Jess, Ryan, Karissa, Jayne, Maddy, Bret, Tess, Laura, Alex, Camryn, great-grandchildren Jordan, Caelyn, Jayden, sister-in-law Maureen Beauchesne & family.
A Celebration of Ray’s life will be held on Monday, May 10th, 2010 from 2pm to 4 pm in the Harvey Room at Moose Jaw Funeral Home. At Ray’s request, a private family service will be held.
