Harold was born on April 13th, 1946 in Moosomin, SK. His twin sister, Isobel had arrived minutes earlier and Harold was a big surprise to everyone including the doctor and his mom! He spent his early years in Fleming playing hockey, ball and learning numerous tricks of the trade from his handyman dad. In July of 1969 he married Barbara Inverarity and they eventually settled in Moose Jaw, where Harold worked for the Department of Highways as a heavy duty mechanic for 31 years. Over these years Dad was active playing ball in summers and curling in the winters. Harold’s children Trevor and Tracy grew up with a very involved dad known by all of his kids friends as someone they could count on for help with anything, anytime, anywhere!! Dad taught everyone by his example and “Git Er Done” attitude! Harold retired in 2007 and spent his retirement years quading with Trev and the “Wild Hogs”, fishing trips with Trev, Tracy and son-in-law Paul, boating and camping with Barb and beloved dog Ziggy. Papa Harold attended most of his grandkids numerous sports and activities and they all loved him dearly. His other time was spent helping numerous family and friends with all sorts of small and large projects, no job was too big or too small for him, he loved to stay busy! He was a jack of all trades and master of them all – although in his humble way, he took very little credit for any of this! He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. A Celebration of Harold’s Life will be held on Friday, April 18th, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Harold’s cremains will be laid to rest in Moose Jaw Crematorium and Columbarium.
