Gladys Barss

Gladys Barss, aged 88 years of Providence Place, Moose Jaw, SK, passed away on Wednesday, July 4th, 2012.  In keeping with Gladys’ wishes, a Private Family Graveside Service will be held at a later date.  Gladys is survived by her daughters: Laureen Schwartz of Moose Jaw, DiannaBarss of Moose Jaw, and Darlene (Jerry) Dyck of Central Butte; sons: Adrian (Louise) Barss of Regina, and Tracey (Tammy) Barss of Swift Current; grandchildren: Ramona (Dave) Makela, Barry Schwartz, Christopher (KaraLee) Dyck, Trenton (Kari-Lee) Dyck, Rae Ann Dyck, Teagan Heffner-Barss, Tyler (Cherisse) McGough and Tiffany (Ryan) McGough; 6 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her husband, Laurie in 1976; sister, Eileen (Laurie) Hancock; granddaughter, Michelle Amy Dyck; great-niece, Jane Fryatt; son-in-law, Alfred Schwartz and all her sisters and brothers-in-law.  Gladys Hesmer was born July 8th, 1923 in Ore, Sussex, England.  In 1946 she immigrated to Nova Scotia.  In December 1949 the family moved to Swift Current.  In 1987 she moved to Saskatoon to live with Dianna.  In 2007 they moved to Moose Jaw.  AS an expression of sympathy, memorial donations in Gladys’ name may be made to the Alzheimer Assoc. of Saskatchewan Inc., 301-2550 – 12th Avenue, Regina, SK S4P 3X1.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  James Murdock, Funeral Director. 693-4550
