Calvin Douglas Barry
Calvin Douglas Barry, aged 91 years of Moose Jaw, SK passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 17th, 2019. Calvin was born in Tuxford, SK on July 15th, 1927. He was a successful entrepreneur in the farming industry, and a man who never took no for an answer. He lied about his age to enlist in World War II but luckily for his wife, he did not go to the front lines. Calvin married Audrey Allison in October 1949. To diversify, he crop dusted and flew a little yellow plane over the Saskatchewan fields, and raised thousands of turkeys. He never complained, not ever. His favourite pastimes were hunting, fishing, and spending time in Arizona. Before solving a problem, his grandkids would say WWCBD “what would Cal Barry do?”. The man was a legend. May we all take a note from Cal’s book. Ask for what you want, don’t take crumbs, and appreciate life. Cal had a special bond with his sons-in-law and the joke was they were the sons Audrey could not give him. Calvin is survived by his wife, Audrey; daughters, Deb (Calvin) and Patti (Len) and their families – 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; brother Wray; sister-in-law, Helen; as well as many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Please join us for Cal’s Farewell Party on Saturday, May 11th, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. in the Moose Jaw Wildlife Centre, 1396 3rd Ave NE, Moose Jaw, SK. Lunch will be provided and everyone is welcome to bring and share stories of Cal. In lieu of flowers, donations in Calvin’s name may be made to the WaWa Patient Travel Fund, 2065 Hamilton St, Regina, SK S4P 2E1. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Calvin Gammel, Funeral Director 306-693-4550.
We send our deepest sympathy to the Barry Family on the passing of Cal. He was a great guy, and will be missed by many. Cal and Lloyd received their 60 year pins in Shrine together this past fall, which was very fitting, as they had also joined Shrine together 60 years ago. We had such a lovely visit with him during that evening. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family. With our sincere condolences, Lloyd and Darla Spicer
Debbie, Cal, Allison and Erin,

I was sad to hear of Cal’s passing and wish to extend my sympathies to Audrey, Debra, Patti and all of those in your family. Cal was always friendly and easy to talk to, a friend and neighbor of past days to be sadly missed. Though it’s been many years since I last saw Cal it seems as if it was only a few months ago as we bumped into each other at the Tuxford grain elevator and we had a nice visit of events and family. He always had a smile and a hello to all. When I think back to my younger days growing up in the Tuxford area, Cal and the Barry family always come to mind with pleasant thoughts and memories. Again my condolences to the family, Bev Gardner.

A true gentleman in every sense of the word. I was lucky to know Cal and always enjoyed our visits. He was a great friend to my mother and my family when we lived in Tuxford . Later he would share his memories . The world was a better place because of Cal Barry My condolences to the family.
Deepest Regrets to Audrey and the entire family. I had the pleasure of knowing Cal when I worked at The Royal Bank in Moose Jaw. He was one of the first people I met and I enjoyed the many visits we had whenever he would stop by. He was certainly one of the friendliest people I have known and someone you were always glad to see. He shared how much he loved his winters in Arizona and I can hear his laugh still. One of the true ” Good Guys” will be missed by all who knew him.
My deepest condolences. I have many great memories of Cal and Audrey with my parents (Bob and Ev Stewart) at the Tuxford rink.
So very sorry about Cal’s passing. You have all my sympathies
To the Barry family, we send our condolences on Cals passing. He was a wonderful neighbour and in the short time we shared a fence, we really enjoyed Cals humour and good spirits. He was a very entertaining man and our over the fence conversations were always interesting and fun. He will be missed and now will watch over Audrey from a different place.
