Audrey Edith Barry
Audrey Edith Barry (née: Allison) passed away on Friday, August 7th, 2020. Audrey was born April 11th, 1930 in Craik, SK and spent her early years in Aylesbury, SK. After High School, she worked at Joyner’s in Moose Jaw, SK until she met the love of her life. Audrey married Cal Barry in October 1949 and they moved to the Tuxford area to grain farm and raise turkeys. She was a house and farm wife who believed family was number one. Raising two daughters, Debra Lynn and Patricia Ann, was her number one priority. Always a nervous driver, she managed to support both daughters in learning to drive. After retirement, Audrey and Cal moved to Moose Jaw and spent the winters in Arizona. They loved old time music and were often found on the dance floor. Audrey was known for her loving nature and homemaking abilities. She was fond of holidays and spent much effort making them extra special. Christmas was her favourite time of year and the house would be decorated with Christmas Trees, ceramic figurines, and baking that made your mouth water. Her grandchildren remember her generous nature and always choosing the perfect gifts. The candy dish was always full and cookie jars were stocked with cheese moons and Dad’s cookies. Audrey wore Chanel #5 perfume and pearls, loved fashion and paid attention to world news and celebrity lives. She will be remembered for her clear green eyes, her kind smile, and her easy going nature. She was predeceased by her husband, Calvin; brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Glenna Allison. Audrey is survived by her daughters, Deb (Cal) Hicks and Patti (Len) Arguin; 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; Wray and Helen Barry and family; and Allison nieces and nephews. Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, a Private Family Interment will be held at a later date. Flowers are gratefully declined. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Audrey’s name may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.
