BARCLAY, Bill (William)
BARCLAY, Bill (William) – It is with profound sorrow that our family announces the passing of our father, brother, uncle and grandfather. He slipped away from us and into forever peace on July 7th, 2011. He was predeceased by his father Jim, mother Sadie and niece Joyce Ann. He is survived by his daughters; Michelle and Stacie; grandson Brandon (Lecky) and the mother of his children Cheri (Bergson); brothers and sisters: Grace (Gene) Adamson, Jim, Betty Simms and Tommy; nieces and nephews: John, Jeanette, Jennifer, Sarah, Steven, Michael, and Victoria.
Bill was born on December 31st, 1949 in Scotland where he spent his first 7 years before moving to Victoria, BC in 1957. It was there that he raised his family and became a grandfather to Brandon. He held many roles in both his community and career. He was a volunteer fire fighter at the Sidney Fire Department, an ambulance attendant and earned a distinguished career in the automotive business. He took this career from Victoria to Moose Jaw 11 years ago where he quickly made his home. In the last few years he had become a favorite at Providence Place where he was blessed with new friendships, had many great times and made a lot of memories.
He was an intelligent man and anyone that was blessed to know him would quickly realize that it was only matched by his sense of humor and quick wit. Even in his last days he was shining through and making everyone smile.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Julie and Deanna with whom he had touched only as deeply as they had touched him. Your care and love for our Dad went beyond and we are blessed that you were a part of his life.
A Celebration of Bill’s life will be held on Saturday, July 16th, 2011 at 1:00 pm in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to Providence Place (http://www.provplace.ca ) and/or Ina Grafton Gage Home for Seniors.
“Right-o Daddy-o, Papa Smurf”
Those we love remain with us
For love itself lives on,
And cherished memories never fade
Because a loved one’s gone.
Those we love can never be
More than a thought apart,
Far as long as there is memory,
They’ll live on in the heart.
