Nora J. Anderson
Nora J. Anderson of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan passed away on Monday, April 12th, 2010 at Pioneer Lodge at the age of 95. She was born June 11th, 1914 in Mortlach, Saskatchewan and resided there until marrying A.S. (Sandy) Anderson in 1939 and moving to the farm in the Caron District where she became involved in church, the Rebekahs and Ladies Legion Auxiliary. In 1969 they retired to Moose Jaw where she had many new interests, sewing quilts for the Unitarian; joining the Moose Jaw Ladies Legion Auxiliary becoming a life member; entertaining with the Kosmo Kats (later the Calico Cats); singing with the Sons and Daughters of the Pioneers choir; Trinity Church and choir and bowling. She enjoyed her home and yard and socializing with family, friends and neighbours and also did some travelling. Nora was very well cared for at Pioneer Lodge for the last six and a half years by the wonderful staff, they were very “special” to her. She was predeceased by her husband Sandy in 1996; parents John and Sarah Kat; and brothers Bert and Doug. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her sons Gordon (Sharon) of Caron and Calvin (Melanie) of Moose Jaw; her grandchildren and great grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends. In keeping with Nora’s wishes there will be no funeral service. Interment of her cremains will take place at a later date.
