Marie Anderson
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marie Anderson on Sunday, October 11th, 2009 at the age of 85 years. Marie was born in Prelate, Saskatchewan on October 23rd, 1923, coming from a large family of eleven children, who are now all deceased. At an early age she moved to Victoria and worked in the Jubilee Hospital as a Nursing Aide. This is where she met the “love of her life” Bill, who was in the Army and stationed there. They were married on February 14th, 1946 in Moose Jaw when Bill returned from overseas. They resided in McCord, Saskatchewan before moving to Moose Jaw. She was well known as “the cheery clerk” at the Army and Navy Department Store. Marie is survived by her husband Bill; three sons Wayne(Dianne), Willie (Lynda – deceased in 2005) and Rodney (Lynda); seven grandchildren Todd (Renee), Chris (Maureen), Ryan, Breigh (Robe McDavid), Scott, Michael (Heather) and Kyle (Dani); eight great grandchildren Nathan, Cassandra, Natasha, Teagen, Trytin, Teale, Rhys and Ryleigh. At Marie’s request a private family interment will be held. A Memorial Tea will be held on Thursday, October 15th, 2009 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home.
