IRVIN DOUGLAS ACTON
July 4th, 1920 – July 24th, 2021
It is with profound sadness that the family of Irv Acton announce his passing in his 101st year. He was predeceased by his wife of 72 years, Gladys; parents, Wilson and Emily; and 8 siblings. Irv is survived by his children: Norm, Lorraine (Lyle), and Doug (Sherlyn); grandchildren: Brad, Troy, Jeff, Cristin (Jon), and Lindsay (Aaron); great-grandchildren, Ethan and Jude; as well as many nieces and nephews. Irv lived a long and wonderful life with Glad until her passing in 2014. After that he moved to Comox, BC where he lived with Lorraine and Lyle until his passing. He enjoyed the warmer climate and being with caring and comforting family. He was always happy to see friends and family stop in for a visit.
Please join us in the Celebration of Irv’s Life on Monday, August 16th, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home for lunch and reflection. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Irv’s name may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 917A Albert St, Regina, SK S4R 2P6. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Gary McDowell, Funeral Director 306-693-4550

To the Acton Family
Jeff and I were both very saddened to hear the news of Irv. He was a totally delightful man, and it was always a joy to see him and Glady out and about when she was still alive. I’m sure there’s a big hole in all of your hearts with the loss of both of these wonderful people, but keep your memories close…they will get you through. You now have 2 beautiful angels watching over you all.
Thank you for the kind thoughts.
As your friendly neighbour in Moose Jaw , my wife and I James Sikorski want to offer as a family our sincere condolences , in losing your love one in death. May the your family receive great comfort from the Bible words mentioned in 1Corinthians 15: 21-26. We love ❤️ you all.

He did my Dad’s auction sale about 40 years ago.Quit a private thing.Dad wanted his possessions to go to friends and not strangers.I often wonder if the records of the sale are still available.I would like them.He was a nice man who Dad thought a lot of.
Thank you for the kind words.
Sorry that the records you are looking for are no longer available to us.
So sad to read of Irv’s passing. So glad he was able to be in Comox, where the weather is milder then back home. I have so many great memories of he and Glady……
Take care, and remember the good times.
Love Gerry and Glennys
Thanks for the kind words and memories.
To all of Irv’s family, we extend our deepest sympathy. Irv was a true gentleman and when Gladys was still with him, we often enjoyed their company and his sense of humour. We know that he will be missed but hope that your cherished memories will help to ease your loss.
Thank you for your thoughtful words
Our sympathies are extended to the Acton families on this sad news. Irv was a fine gentleman and always had time for a good discussion when we met. He was an integral part of our community’s history.
Thanking you for your kind words.
Lorraine, there has been a lot of water under the bridge since we sat across the aisle from each other in grade 9. We got to know your dad and mom at the Friday night meat draws in the Elks Lodge after we moved back to Moose Jaw. They were such good company with lots of laughs. We extend our sympathy to the whole family.
Condolences to Irv’s family! Irv was an important presence when we were growing up & always a friendly face over the years! Irv & Gladie , mom , Dad , McKeowns, Stirtons, Clark & Nell….. they had a lot of fun curling & just socializing over the years!! Those were good times…. Lots of great memories!!!
Looking forward to seeing you all !
Love, Penny McKenzie
Thanks Penny for the kind words and thoughts.

Thanks Les and Bev for kind words
We were so privileged to get to know Irv during his years living in Comox with Lyle and Lorraine. We had some great times and conversations with him. Playing cards, drinking whiskey and listening to his stories was always an integral part of our visit. It was a pleasure to visit with him. He will be missed but mostly admired for the life he lived and the great guy that he was. Rest In Peace Irv. Love Cindy and Wayne
Thanks for the kind words and memories.
