Sharon Doerksen
Sharon Doerksen (nee Winch) of Moose Jaw, Sask. passed away peacefully, with family by her side, on May 22nd, 2008. A Service of Remembrance will be held on Tuesday, May 27th, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in Zion United Church. The Rev. Jo Anne Knobbe will officiate. Sharon grew up on the family farm in Unity, Sask. with sisters Anne and Carol. She graduated from the Saskatchewan Teacher’s College in Saskatoon. She began her teaching career at Eston Elementary School in 1965 and, after moving to Moose Jaw in 1969, went on to teach and inspire many young children through 25 years at the Creative Corner nursery school. In 1964, Sharon married Erwin. They enjoyed 43 years of marriage and also raised two children, Kyle and Korin. Sharon was a Mom and Grandma above all else and will be lovingly remembered by all of her family for her grace, strength of character, tolerance, loyalty to family, her many friends and sense of humour. Sharon enjoyed family, friends and reminiscing, a good laugh, our living skies, music, games and working with children. She is predeceased by her parents Willard and Catherine Winch. Sharon will be lovingly remembered by husband Erwin; two children Kyle(Leigh) and Korin; granddaughter Kendra; sisters Anne (Wayne) Rose and Carol (Don) Burns and their families; extended family and many, many friends. Family would like to thank all of those who provided Sharon with warm and professional care over the last year and a half. A Memorial Bench will be placed at Spring Creek in Sharon’s name.
