Flora Downton

It is with great sadness that the family of Flora Downton announces her passing on August 23rd, 2008 at the age of 93 years. Flora was born in Normandin, Quebec on January 24th, 1915. She was predeceased by her husband Ed in 1996, infant daughter and step-son Ernie Downton. Flora will be remembered with love and greatly missed by sons Arthur (Terry), Allan (Lucy), Garry (Kathy) and Garth; step daughter Edna Bryanton and step daughter-in-law June. She will also be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Flora always enjoyed cooking and the family gatherings, be it on Sundays, special holidays or other occasions. In keeping with Flora’s wishes, there will be a private family Graveside Service held at a later date with burial of cremains at Mortlach Cemetery. The family wishes to acknowledge and give “special thanks” to nurses, staff and roommate Elsie Sampson at Extendicare for their loving care and support given to mother during her stay. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in Flora’s memory to the Family Support Group at Extendicare, 1151 Coteau St. West, Moose Jaw, Sask. S6H 5G5.
