Myrtle Josephine Ironside
Myrtle Josephine Ironside, aged 90 years of Moose Jaw and formerly of Cranbrook, B.C. passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 21st, 2008 at Providence Place. At the family’s request, there will be no Funeral Service held at this time. A Memorial service will be held at a later date in Cranbrook. Myrtle was born in Broderick, Saskatchewan to Josephine and Hans Skotheim. On September 27th, 1941 she married Bill Ironside. They lived in Saskatoon, Outlook and Cranbrook. Bill passed away in 1984 and in 2000 Myrtle moved to Victoria Towers in Moose Jaw. Myrtle’s leisure time was spent playing board games, cards and watching hockey, baseball, and curling. Music was important to Myrtle. She loved to sing and dance. She would fondly remember the times spent with her sisters. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Myrtle was predeceased by her parents, her husband Bill, and her six siblings, Helen, Mabel, Madeline, Hilmer, Emil and Sig. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Darlene (Roger) Anholt and son Don (Marlene); grandchildren Lori (Mike) Botterill and Ryan (Kelly) Anholt and Lyalla Ironside; great grandchildren Ryan and Courtney Botterill and Colby and Caden Anholt; and sister Pearl.
