Joseph Nagel
It is with deep sadness, that the family of Joseph Nagel announce his sudden passing, peacefully thru the night on Tuesday, December 23rd, 2008. The Memorial Service will be celebrated on Sunday, December 28th, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home with Linda Owens officiating. Joe was a very kind and gentle man predeceased by his loving wife of fifty years Joyce, and eleven brothers and sisters. He is survived by his only living sibling HattieGable of Winnipeg, his three daughters Joanne (Rus) McCord, Jude (Tim) Heffernan, JaniceNagel (Rob Penner), seven grandchildren and their spouses, three great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and numerous friends. Joe was born December 18th 1923 on the family farm in Mossbank Saskatchewan. He lived on the farm till he joined the army on May 8th 1942. He served overseas in England, Holland, France and Germany in his four year of service. Joe met Joyce in 1946 and they married in 1947 in Winnipeg Manitoba. He joined the RCAF in 1955 and served until 1973, with postings in Winnipeg, England, France and finally in Moose Jaw where they retired in 1988. They were members of Trinity, and Zion United Churches in Moose Jaw, and several winters in Parksville, B.C. at Knox United Church. He loved his singing and was an active member of several choirs in both Moose Jaw and Parksville. Joe celebrated his 85th birthday and enjoyed an early Christmas celebration with his family this past weekend before his last admission to Hospital. He will be lovingly remembered by his family and friends. Donations may be made to charities of your choice.
