Frank Joseph Sykora
Frank Joseph Sykora passed away peacefully in Moose Jaw on September 25, 2008, at the age of 80. He was predeceased in March, 2000 by his loving wife of 43 years, Florence, as well as by his parents, Adolph and Josephine, and his brother David who passed away on March 3, 2008. Frank will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Joanne (Darrell) of Lethbridge, his three sons, Dennis (Elaine) of Calgary, David (Gale) of Winnipeg and James (Carrie) of Vancouver and his sisters Helen and Bessie. He will be dearly missed by his grandchildren Kelly (Heather), Nikki, Scott (MariJo), Michael, Jason, Marisha, Evan and Sydney and by his three great grandchildren, Kyraya, Trayson, and Draydon. Frank was born July 3, 1928 outside Scout Lake, SK. He moved to Regina as a young man where he met Florence and they married in 1956. In 1970, the family moved to Moose Jaw which became the family home thereafter. Frank worked in the real estate business at Band City Realty, a business started by his brother Dave. He was proud of his farming roots and the hardships overcome by his parents in immigrating to Canada from Czechoslovakia. He enjoyed hunting, golfing, and watching hockey and football, taking particular delight in his role as a hockey parent to James and David. The Funeral Service will be celebrated on Monday, September 29, 2008 at 11:00 am at Moose Jaw Funeral Home with Lamont Dyck officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Sask., 279 3rd Ave. N., Saskatoon, Sk., S7K 2H8.
