Herman Nelson of Moose Jaw, Sk. passed away on Thursday, December 23rd, 2010 in Edmonton, AB. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, December 30th, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home with Rev. John Forrest officiating. A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, December 29th, 2010 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Herman was born in Claremont, St. Ann’s, Jamaica. He left Jamaica in 1959 to go to England where he attended Seneca College for his Power Engineer Certificate. He then moved to Canada in 1967 spending a couple years in Toronto. He was then recruited to Moose Jaw to operate the Canaday’s Apparel Plant. He retired from Canaday’s in 1995 due to health problems. He spent most of his days playing cards. He loved his garden and travelling to visit relatives and playing dominoes. Herman loved to tease and had an infectious sense of humor. Herman was predeceased by his daughter Alma and brothers Hamilton and Austin. He is survived by his best friend and loving wife Roberta (Bert), daughters Joy (Mike), Cindy (Kerry, Joshua, Seth & Noah), Tammy (Chuck, Brock, Ashley, Jaxson & Jace), son Todd (Tina, Tyler); his brothers, Desmond, Norman, John and Earl; one sister Myrna; grandchildren Suzette, Marlon and Glenford; four great grandchildren Abigale, Rennise, Javan and Jamal; and many nieces and nephews.
