Annie Currie
Annie Currie of Central Butte, SK passed away on August 18th, 2011 at the age of 90 years. Born on June 22nd, 1921 in Ireland, she came to Canada in June 1926 with her family. Annie married John Currie in 1944 and lived on the farm at Grainland until moving into Central Butte in 1966. She continued to work at the Central Butte Union Hospital for a number of years. Annie spent many hours feeding the birds, painting, knitting and crocheting and was always giving things she made to family and friends. Annie enjoyed many years of retirement in her home and the last 14 with her special feline companion Tuffy. She also enjoyed many visits with two special boys, Dante and Jaden, to which she was Gramma Annie. Annie spent a short time in Ina Grafton Gage in Moose Jaw before entering Regency Hospital in May 2010. She was predeceased by her husband, John; father and mother, Robert and Annie Patton; and sisters, Jane Morden, Jessie Payne and Bobbie Mulholland. Annie is survived by her daughter, Ann; son-in-law, Mel Swanson; special extended family member, Larry Small; Tuffy and several nieces, nephews and friends. In keeping with Annie’s wishes there will be no Funeral Service. The family would like to take this time to thank those that stopped in to say hi and to those who brought flowers, etc this past year.
