ELLEDA MILDRED MCBRIDE
JUNE 18th, 1949 – May 12th, 2011
It is with great sadness that the family of Elleda Mildred McBride (nee Green) announces the passing of a loving and wonderful wife, mother and grandmother on Thursday, May 12th, 2011 at the age of 61 years. She was predeceased by her parents, Bill and Winnie Green, father-in-law Arnold McBride and grandson Christopher Cameron. She leaves to mourn her passing, her loving husband of 39 years, Wayne; daughters, Cynthia (Dan) Cameron and Chantel (Jamie Aasen); sons, Michael and Kevin (Chantal Wog); grandchildren: Andrew, Jayda, Rayanna, Breigh, Sydney, Ashlee, Jared and Xander; brother, Barry (Janice) Green; sister, Cathy (Ian) Cameron; mother-in-law, Beatrice McBide; and long time family friend, Myrna Folk; as well as numerous relatives and friends. Elleda was born June 18th, 1949 in Moose Jaw and spent most of her life living there. She was educated in Moose Jaw at Alexandra School and Central Collegiate. She worked at the front desk of the Union Hospital for a short time, then at the Training School now known as Valley View Center where she met fellow co-worker and future husband Wayne. She took and received her certified nursing assistance course in Saskatoon and worked a short time in the Canora, SK. hospital, then returned to the Moose Jaw Union Hospital. She married the love of her life Wayne on May 13th, 1972 at Minto United Church. In 1974, Elleda took many years off of work to focus on raising her growing family. Elleda’s family was her pride and joy, her children and grandchildren brought her immense happiness and pleasure. Elleda loved horses and owned six at one time, was an avid fan and collector of Elvis Presley memorabilia as well as Barbie’s. Elleda’s last few years of life were troubled with many health problems and concerns. Defying doctors and nursing staff, she pulled through many times and came home to us. She is at peace now, her struggle is over. We all love her and will miss her deeply, our lives forever changed without her here. In keeping with Elleda’s wishes, there will be no funeral service but only a Private Family Graveside Service at Caron Cemetery.
Love you mom.
Really wish you got to meet your only male McBride Grandson.
He will know how wonderful you are.
You are greatly missed.
