Robert Russell McLaren
Robert Russell McLaren, aged 72 years of Moose Jaw, SK, passed away Saturday, December 3rd, 2011. Bob was born in Mortlach, SK on August 25th, 1939 and was raised in the Clayhill District and Boharm. Bob was employed by the Moose Jaw and Calgary Co-ops for many years as a meat cutter and also in Kelowna for 20 years. He was an avid curler and in later years, enjoyed playing 3 card poker at the casino. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Russell and Ethel Andrews; parents, Bob and Doreen; sister, Marjorie Lutz; brother, Dee; in-laws, Vic and Irene Warner; and brothers-in-law, Stan Lutz and Jim Elliott. Bob is survived by his wife, Phyllis; son, Rob and daughter, Lori of Calgary; grandchildren: Lanni (Dave Laidlaw), R.C., Nicole (Calvin Blackwell) of Calgary, and Samantha of Nelson, BC; great-grandchildren, Kol and Kori May McLaren, and Liam Robert Blackwell; brothers, Bernie (Lynn) and Doug (Wendy); sisters-in-law, Wendy McLaren and Lorraine Elliott; best friend, Bill Magowan; and by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. In keeping with Bob’s wishes, there will be no Funeral Service held. Friends and Family are invited to a Come and Go Tea on Thursday, December 8th, 2011 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the Harvey Room at Moose Jaw Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob’s name may be made to the Moose Jaw Health Foundation, 455 Fairford St. E., Moose Jaw, SK S6H 1H3 or to the Allan Blair Cancer Centre, c/o Pasqua Hospital, 4101 Dewdney Ave., Regina, SK S4T 7T1.
