Dwight Schoffer
It is with deepest sorrow we announce the unexpected passing of Dwight Schoffer of Moose Jaw, SK on December 12th, 2011. Born on January 14th, 1946 in Ormiston, SK, he was the youngest child of George and Cora Schoffer. Dwight enjoyed a host of occupations over the years including logger, barber (who got to cut the Saskatchewan Roughriders hair), salesman for Weisers and Seagrams, taxi driver and his most loved profession of an orderly at the Moose Jaw Union Hospital where he was well known as a prankster. Dwight enjoyed camping, visiting with friends, riding his motorcycle, two step dancing and football. He was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Al Pidhorney. Dwight’s passing will be mourned by his surviving siblings, Doreen (Gordon) Walter, Leonard (Eileen) Schoffer, Marilyn Pidhorney, numerous nieces and nephews, and his dear friend and companion, Debra and her children Mike, Jamie, Matt (Amanda) and their daughter Charlee. Dwight was lucky enough to be loved and adored by many over his life but no one more than his only child, Nicole (Brad) Wendt and their two children who were Dwight’s pride and joy, Alexandra (his Ali girl) and Noah (his buddy boy). Dwight will be lovingly remembered as a devoted and loving father, grandfather and friend, with a deep and special bond with his daughter and as the most proud grandfather who loved to share stories of his grandchildren with anyone who would listen. He was a friend to many and was always there to lend an ear, hug and laugh. The family thanks everyone for the expressions of sympathy during this most difficult time. As per Dwight’s wishes, there will be no Funeral Service. In lieu of flowers, please purchase a ticket to a Saskatchewan Roughriders football game and cheer loud in honor of Dwight.
