Eva Vargo
Eva Vargo passed away Friday, March 25th, 2011. The youngest of 9 children, Eva was born to Paul and Katerina Pich on March 17th, 1912 in Million, MB. Eva married Elmer Vargo on September 12th, 1937. It was in Gladmar, SK. where Eva and Elmer farmed, ran a restaurant and raised their 3 daughters. Following a tragic farm accident in 1965 that claimed Elmer, Eva moved to Regina, SK. where she was employed with housekeeping personnel at the Regina Inn and the Department of Social Services until her retirement in 1977. Moving to Moose Jaw in 1992, she continued to travel and added Mexico to her list of destinations that included Disneyland, Reno, Hawaii, Vancouver Island and Alaska. Eva will be remembered for her passion for gardening, fresh flowers and her family. Having just celebrated her 99th birthday, she was surrounded by her favorite things…fresh flowers and family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and 8 siblings. Eva will be forever loved and missed by her 3 daughters, Shirley (Matt Stefan) of Moose Jaw, Nadine (Bill Bordessa) of Moose Jaw and Janice (Brian Tytlandsvik) of Radville; 9 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews. In keeping with Eva’s wishes, there will be no Funeral Service, however a Memorial Tea in celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
