Ron Wilkinson
Ron Wilkinson passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, May 29th, 2011 after losing his battle with cancer at the age of 73. Ron was born and raised in the Pleasantdale, SK area. He joined the RCAF in 1958 and spent 31 years in the service before retiring in Moose Jaw. For the next several years he worked as an Ice Maker at the Bushell Park Curling Rink, a job he very much enjoyed and took great pride in. Ron was an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #59 serving in several capacities and thoroughly enjoyed his time spent there with his comrades and friends. He was active in many sports throughout his life and, in later years, particularly golf and curling. Many good times were had travelling throughout the province participating in Legion curling and golf. Ron and Doris also enjoyed the many years travelling with special friends to Craven and later to Thompson Lake. Ron and Doris were able to celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary in March of 2009 with family in Mexico. Predeceased by his mother, father and two brothers, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 51 years, Doris; son, Lee (Karen); daughter, Laurie (Darwin); grandson, Chris; brothers, Charlie (Joyce), Greg and Larry (Sheila); brother-in-law, Lawrence (Judy); sisters-in-law, Johanna and Pat; and many nieces and nephews.
