Joan Marie Whiteman
Joan Marie Whiteman, aged 86 years of Moose Jaw, SK, entered into the Lord’s presence Saturday, August 25th, 2012. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 1st, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in First Baptist Church, 1010 Main St. N., Moose Jaw, SK. Pastor Adam Driscoll will officiate and a private family interment will be held at Sunset Cemetery. A Time of Visitation for Family and Friends will be held on Friday, August 31st, 2012 from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. She was predeceased by her husband, Harry; daughters, Joyce (Nick) Velikas and Charlene Hunter; and brother, Gordon McRae. Joan will be lovingly remembered by her son, Robert (Betty) Whiteman; daughters, Janice Champion and June(Dennis) Vanin; son-in-law, Doug Hunter; 19 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren. Joan was born on February 14th, 1926 in Toronto, ON and moved to Saskatchewan in 1948. She worked at Valley View Centre as a Group Activity Aide, retiring on July 31st, 1984. Joan was a member of First Baptist Church for many years and had a very strong faith in the Lord. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
