Mary Wirges

Mary Wirges (neé Middleton) passed away peacefully with family members by her side on Monday, March 26th, 2012 at Extendicare Nursing Home at the age of 87 years.  A Memorial Tea will be held on Friday, March 30th, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. in the Harvey Room at Moose Jaw Funeral Home.  A private family interment will have taken place in Sunset Cemetery.  A Time of Visitation for Family and Friends will be held on Thursday, March 29th, 2012 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home.  She was born on September 3rd, 1924 at Old Wives, SK.  She was predeceased by her parents, Harry and Ethel (Hartley) Middleton; brothers, James (Eva Belle), William (Dorothy), Charles and George in infancy; sister, Agnes in infancy; husband, Theodore (Teddy) Wirges; daughter, Marilyn in infancy; granddaughter, Amanda Marie (Mandy) Henderson; brothers-in-law, George Sapergia and Eugene Mckee.  Mary is survived by her sisters, Irene Sapergia and Bella Mckee; children: Mervin (Pat) Wirges, Debbie (Richard) Box, Wanda (Ralph) Henderson and their families.  Mary worked as a special care aide at Extendicare Nursing Home from 1976 to 1992.  She had a green thumb, spending most of her free time in her yard in the summer and during the winter, set up quilts in her house.  Her door was always open to all and she loved company coming to her.  Special thanks to Mary’s past co-workers at Extendicare, turned loving caregivers.  For those so wishing, donations in Mary’s name may be made to The Moose Jaw Humane Society, Box 1658 Station Main, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 9Z9.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Jeff Ofstie, Funeral Director. 693-4550.
