HAZEL MARGARET COWARD
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on Tuesday, February 26th, 2013 at the Moose Jaw Union Hospital at the age of 92 years. Hazel will be forever missed by her daughters, Melva Holloway and Cindy (Greg) Thomas; son, Jim (Merrylyne) Coward; seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren; sister, Marlene (Dale) Hannah; brother-in-law, Robert Ferguson; sister-in-law, Iris Strudwick; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 44 years, Ken Coward; mother and father, John and Vera Fessler; step-mother, Gladys Fessler; sisters, Thelma (Cliff) Elder and Addie Ferguson; brother, Bill (Phil) Fessler; brothers-in-law, Derrick (Evelyn) Coward and John Strudwick; sisters-in-law, Daisy (Frank) Bush and Violet (Granville) Waller. Hazel was born May 28th, 1920 in Drinkwater, SK and lived there her entire life until moving to Moose Jaw in 2002. She was always the life of the party wherever she went and enjoyed telling a good joke. Over the years she acted as secretary-treasurer for the Community Club of Drinkwater and was a longtime member of the Eastern Star and Daughters of the Nile. We would like to thank all of the staff that gave her such excellent care for the last four years of her life at Ina Grafton Gage Home and Crescent Park Retirement Villa, as well as the amazing staff at the Moose Jaw Union Hospital. A Celebration of Hazel’s Life will be held on Friday, March 1st, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane, Moose Jaw, SK with Reverend Douglas Hallman officiating. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Hazel’s name may be made to the Moose Jaw Health Foundation, 455 Fairford St. E., Moose Jaw, SK S6H 1H3.
