Robert V. (Bob/RV) Davies
It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Robert V. (Bob/RV) Davies of Moose Jaw, SK at the age of 86 years on April 29th, 2013. He was born in Ignace, ON on January 5th, 1927. Bob leaves behind his children: Rick, Debbie, Bob (Helen), Lea (John), Ray (Janice) and Lee (Rob). He will also be missed by his grandchildren: Jennifer, Susie, Laine, Jacy, Eden, Ryan, Luke, JennaRene, Samantha, Sabrina and Shaylee; as well as many nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren. He has gone to join his first wife, Winnie; his second wife, Dorothy; sons: Barton, Donnie and Wayne; and all his sisters and brothers. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, May 19th, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Royal Canadian Legion, upper hall, 268 High St. W. For those so wishing, memorial donations may be made in Bob’s name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Sask., 279 3rd Ave. N., Saskatoon, Sk, S7K 2H8 or the Lupus SK Society Inc., Box 88 – 103 Hospital Dr., Saskatoon, SK., S7N 0W8. I miss you so much Grandpa, I’m thinking of you a ton tonight. I wish you could of met your great granddaughter, I know you would be so proud I used Winnie’s name. I love you and know your happy dancing with her.
I well remember the late R.V.. he always answered his phone by saying “Davies”.. always in a stern voice..
Here it is the 21’st day of 2021 almost eight years ago.. Most people on the C P railway would be concerned if they were called into his office for doing something wrong .. I never backed away from his sharp voice only once did I sit across the desk from him. He wanted me to change my statement about an accident, I replied no Mr. Davies I’m telling the truth, I then vacated `his office.. Thus from that day till retirement ,we respected each other.
