Leslie (Les) Earl Gray

Leslie (Les) Earl Gray of Moose Jaw, SK passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 22nd, 2013 at the Regina General Hospital surrounded by his immediate family.  Les was predeceased by his first wife, June (Stimpson) and his stepson, Scott McPherson.  Les will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Leslie; his son, Robin; daughter-in-law, Cathy Bedford; his wife, Dianna (McPherson); his grandchildren: Logan and Morgan McKay, Will and Clara Gray; his stepson, Terry (April); and his brothers, Bob (Ellen) and Garth (Elaine).  Les is also survived by his step-grandchildren: Brock, Rykker (Denniel), Jessie, Joshua, Sophie (Jolene), Clayton, Ashley and Devon (Terry); as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.  Les was born on April 30th, 1931 at Weyburn and moved to Moose Jaw in 1955 following his training at the Saskatchewan Training School.  During his long career, Les dedicated over 37 years as a psychiatric nurse and served on numerous boards and committees on a local, provincial and national level.  Throughout his life, Les always had time for others and was always there to help both friends and strangers in any way he could.  He was a good listener who possessed great insight and had a view on many subjects.  He enjoyed tending his vegetable garden, photography, electronics, politics, travel, bowling, collecting and working in his workshop.  Above all, he doted on his grandchildren who brought him immense pride and pleasure.  Les was a great dad, grandfather and husband and a friend to many; he will be sorely missed.  A Celebration of Les’ Life will be held on Friday, June 28th, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home.  Reverend Doug Shepherd will officiate and interment will take place at Rosedale Cemetery.  For those so wishing, memorial donations may be made in Les’ name to the Canadian Mental Health Association Inc.
