Odel “Odie” Edgar Hammer

Odel “Odie” Edgar Hammer, aged 95 years of Moose Jaw, SK, passed away on Monday, September 9th, 2013.  A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, September 14th, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in Rosedale Cemetery with Pastor Bill Thomson officiating.  A Time of Fellowship will follow in the Harvey Room at Moose Jaw Funeral Home.  He was predeceased by his parents, Sigurd and Emma Hammer; first wife, Signe; second wife, Clara; and brothers and sisters.  Odie will be sadly missed by his sons: Reg (Elmyra), Trevor and Herb (Donna); daughter, Sjaan; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins; as well as dear friends Elsie and Doreen.  Odie was a retired carpenter who took great pride in his work.  His family was his pride and joy, and he especially loved the annual family BBQ at the lake with his whole family present.  He also loved spending time with his friends Elsie and Doreen, just going for coffee or a drive.  Odie was always there when you needed him and he was loved by all that knew him.  The family would like to thank the nurses on the first floor of the Moose Jaw Union Hospital and Dr. Geyer for the compassion and care shown to all of us.  As an expression of sympathy, donations in Odie’s name may be made to The Moose Jaw Humane Society, Box 1658 Station Main, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 9Z9 or the Moose Jaw Health Foundation, 455 Fairford St. E., Moose Jaw, SK S6H 1H3.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Jeff Ofstie and James Murdock Funeral Directors. 306-693-4550.
