Norman Kerr
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Norman Kerr on Friday, July 12th, 2013 following a brief and courageous battle with cancer, with his loving family at his side. Norm was born June 26th, 1936, lived in the Crestwynd area and attended Don Jean School. He was predeceased by infant son, Darren; parents, Gordon and Anne; and brother, Graham. Norm is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Ev (Missy); daughters: Pamela (Terry) Anthony, Gayle (Yogi) Trumbley and Beverly (Scott) Fryklund; son, Scott (Jacquie); grandchildren: Darin (Kim), Dustin, Allan, Kristin (Sean), Heather (Chad), Brittany (Nikk), Jeremy (Samantha), Blaine (Lauren), Amanda (Ian) and Alayson (Brian); as well as his great-grandchildren. Norm was a member of the Minto Choir, Moose Jaw Elks, The Assiniboia Masonic Lodge and Shrine Club, and a volunteer at the Sukanen Ship. Norm, as part of the Dusty Old Farmers, loved making music and entertained many senior citizens weekly. You could listen and dance to his music at the Cosmo Centre every Tuesday and he played right up until the end of June. As well, he loved to play his guitar and sing to his family at all the family functions. Thank you to Dr. C.F. Wigmore, Vi and the Emergency, Lab and Medical staff at the Moose Jaw Union Hospital for the care you provided to Norm. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 19th, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in Minto United Church, 1036 7th Ave NW, Moose Jaw, SK. Gary Johnson will officiate. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations in Norm’s name may be made to the Wa Wa Shrine Patient Transportation Fund, 2065 Hamilton St, Regina, SK S4P 2E1 or Minto United Church, 1036 7th Ave NW, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 4C4.
