Elsie Moffat

It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Elsie on Sunday, March 24th, 2013 at the age of 84 years after a long battle with her health.  Elsie was born on April 14th, 1928 in Ituna, SK and grew up in Yorkton, SK.  She was predeceased by her parents, Bill and Alice Chorney; husband, Walter Moffat; sons, Gary and Walter; brother, Dave and special friend, Al Shuttleworth.  Living descendants are sons, Darrell and Garnet; sisters: Grace (Dan) Heska, Irene and Darlene; brother, Ernest (Faye); daughter-in-law, Dianne Moffat, sister-in-law, Sheila Chorney; grandchildren, Robin (Uri) and Adrienne (Rob); great-grandchild, Marcus; and special friend, Lin Schoffer.  Married to Walter Moffat in 1947, she had her hands full raising four sons.  Elsie enjoyed the comfort of friends and family and loved working in her flower garden.  Many thanks go out to the staff at Pioneer Lodge, where she passed away in Moose Jaw.  She will be forever missed by anyone knowing her.  The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 29th, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home.  Interment will take place at Rosedale Cemetery.  Flowers are gratefully declined.  Friends so wishing may make donations in Elsie’s name to The Moose Jaw Humane Society, Box 1658 Station Main, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 9Z9.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Jeff Ofstie, Funeral Director. 693-4550.
