MARY ROSE REID (MacInnis)
It is with great sadness the family of Mary Rose Reid announces the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and cherished friend. Mary Rose, aged 67 years of Moose Jaw, SK, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on Sunday, March 24th, 2013. She was born June 25th, 1945 in Sydney, NS, where she married Bill Reid in 1965. From there they lived the typical military lifestyle and moved many times across the country and to Germany. They had 3 children and finally settled in Moose Jaw in 1979. Here Mary Rose began her successful career with CP Rail spanning 25 years, covering several provinces, beginning as a clerk and retiring as a manager. After retirement in Winnipeg, Mary Rose returned to Moose Jaw to rejoin family and many friends. She was active in her community as a volunteer with Victim Services associated with the Moose Jaw Police Service and worked part-time at Quilter’s Haven doing what she loved most. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Blair (Pam) and Lorna (Mike); and three wonderful grandchildren: Taryn, Michaela and Megan. She was predeceased by her parents Rose and Joseph MacInnis; husband Bill; son Brian and her sister Lois. Mary Rose was surrounded by those that loved her most during the last hours of life and will be terribly missed by all who knew her. A very special thank you to the incredible staff at Chateau St. Michael for their exceptional care of our dear mother. You all went above and beyond your job description to show compassion and love that was simply touching and made it easier at a very difficult time for us all. A Celebration of Mary Rose’s Life will be held on Wednesday, March 27th, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home.
