George passed away peacefully on August 16, 2013 of Hodgkins Lymphoma, at 82 years of age, with his family by his side, at the Extendicare Nursing Home in Moose Jaw, SK. George was predeceased by his parents Christian and Bertha Rogoschewsky; brothers: Leo, Joseph and John; sisters: Kay Benko, Vicky Paquette; brother-in-laws: George Mengel, Phil Metz; sister-in-laws: Mary (Leo) Rogoschewsky, Helen (Joe) Rogoschewsky. George leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife of 61 years, Margaret (Hoffart), 7 children – Fran (Godfrey) Bachman, Darlene (Edward) Massine, Judy (Bob) Ziegler, Janet (Doug) Fahlman, Ron (Lorraine) Rogoschewsky, Greg (Louise) Rogoschewky, Jodi (Curtis) Work; 17 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. George is survived by his sisters: Loretta Mengel, Mary Rogoschewsky, and Anne Metz. George was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He spent his life as a farmer on the family homestead at Chamberlain, farming the land and raising cattle on his beautiful valley property. He was proudest when the homestead celebrated its’ 100th birthday in 2009. In 1995, they retired to Chamberlain, leaving his eldest son, Ron and Lorraine to carry on the family farm. In 2006, they moved to an apartment in Moose Jaw, where many would see Dad taking part in activities in the Timothy Eaton Senior Centre or meeting with friends over a coffee at the Moose Jaw Town and Country Mall. A FUNERAL MASS will be celebrated at Church of Our Lady, 566 Vaughan Street, Moose Jaw, SK on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. Carlos Jimenez as presiding celebrant. Interment will take place in Chamberlain Cemetery in the afternoon. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, 61 Ross St. W., Moose Jaw, SK S6H 2M2 or the Canadian Diabetes Association, 917A Albert Street, Regina, SK S4R 2P6. The family would like to thank the staff at the Extendicare Nursing Home, Dr. Maree, Dr. Dautremont, and Dr. Brown for care given to Dad during his illness.
