Ann Sjoberg (nee Dyson)
On the evening of September 30th, 2013, Ann passed away peacefully at home after a four year battle with cancer.
Ann was born in Manchester, England on November 18th, 1942. She was the second child of Alan & Jane Dyson. Ann grew up in Crumpsall, a suburb of Manchester, England with her siblings Peter & Susan. She attended an all-girls Physical Education College in Liverpool, England. Upon completion of her degree she taught for only a few years in England. During these years in England she explored the mountain sides and caves with her dear friends in the climbing club. With her constant sense of adventure, Ann took on a teaching job in Lampman, Saskatchewan as a way to work and see the world. After a short time in Lampman, she moved to the big city of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. She quickly embraced her new teaching job at Central Collegiate Institute and submersed herself into coaching Gymnastics, Basketball, Track and more. She met the love of her life Clayton Sjoberg when she joined the local Moose Jaw Tennis Club. She was always the avid tennis player. Even through her recent fight with cancer you could still find her there watching her husband play. Ann cherished her many teaching years at Central, King George and Ross Schools. She mainly taught Phys-Ed which made her the favourite teacher amongst many students. She will be greatly missed by many students and co-workers alike. Ann will forever be remembered by her husband Clayton; children Kristian (Jennifer) & Amanda (Philip); her brother Peter (Nora) & sister Susan (Ray). Ann will also be forever remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews, extended family & dear friends. A Celebration of Ann’s life will held at the Wakamaw Oval Pavillion, 301 River Drive, Moose Jaw, on October 26th, 2013 at 5:00 PM.
